Special Regulation:

At the end of year one, students enrolled on BA (Joint Honours, GY101) and other programmes where the Global Media subject is offered will be able to apply to transfer to the BA Global Media (GY135) programme, subject to satisfactory performance in first year modules. The following regulations apply for students wishing to transfer:

  1. In order to be considered, a student must apply to transfer by the deadline which is typically in July/August.
  2. In order to be successful, a student who applies to transfer from GY101 (or other programmes) to GY135 must have passed all modules on the first attempt; and must have a minimum average grade of at least 60 per cent in their Global Media subject.
  3. Transfer offers will be made based solely on results in first year modules. Students will be ranked based on results, with the highest scoring student ranked number one, and so on. Students will be offered available places based on their rank score.
  4. If more applications are received than there are places available, a waiting list will be applied, based on the same criteria.
  5. Applicants will only be considered subject to vacant places being available.
  6. The number of places available will be set by the programme director annually, and based on available places in the BA Global Media programme.
  7. Where a student is unable to apply due to illness/deferral of assessments, a conditional offer may be made if evidence of performance in formative assessment, and/or at least one semester of results, is available. For the purposes of ranking, the student will be ranked based on the evidence submitted, and made an offer based on their rank score. This offer will be made unconditional on receipt of final first year grades and confirmation that the applicant has passed all modules in first year and meets the minimum average grade of at least 60 per cent in their Global Media subject. Where a student has not completed any assignment, and cannot provide evidence of assessment, the student will be ineligible to apply.
