Useful Information and Contacts

Checklist

[   ] Complete your Outgoing Erasmus Grant Application Form and submit it by the deadline.

[   ] Complete and return all requested application documents to the Host University by the due date.

[   ] Take the OLS placement test (if applicable) and take advantage of the OLS language courses.

[   ] Liaise with your Programme Director or College Study Abroad Officer regarding the Mobility Assessment.

[   ] Organise your travel insurance and your EHIC.

[   ] Complete and sign the Grant Agreement (sent to you by the International Office), and return it promptly (and BEFORE you go on Erasmus+).

[   ] Ensure that you have registered online with University of Galway before you go abroad.

[   ] Organise your finances and make sure you have sufficient funds to cover initial expenses.

[   ] Make sure to have the telephone number and email address of your contact persons abroad.

[   ] Have details of your accommodation and make sure that you will have access to it at the time of your arrival. If it is not going to be available on your arrival date, make temporary arrangements.

[   ] Have a valid passport and don’t forget to bring it with you, together with any travel tickets.

[   ] Bring your European Health Insurance Card and the emergency number of your travel insurance provider.

[   ] Bring a photocopy of your birth certificate, an official translated birth certificate (if so advised by your academic coordinator), your University of Galway nomination letter, and some passport photos.

[   ] Have several photocopies of all your documentation, including your passport.

[   ] Leave your contact details with your family – and remember to keep in touch with them.

[   ] Check your University of Galway email regularly while you are studying abroad and consult the University of Galway website.

[   ] Join the Outgoing Erasmus+ Facebook group.

[   ] Ensure that you have completed your Learning Agreement as per Chapter 4 of this booklet.

[   ] Ensure that you return to the International Office a Grant Acknowledgement Form in respect of each Erasmus+ grant instalment that you receive.

[   ] Complete the EU survey as per the email request you’ll receive at the end of your visit.

[   ] Before you leave your host university at the end of your study period, make sure to get your Certificate of Attendance completed, and return this to the International Office at University of Galway, keeping a copy for yourself.
